Peggy West Memorial Scholarship Application
PFLAG Franklin established the Peggy West Memorial Scholarship to encourage and recognize Williamson County, Tennessee students in the LGBTQ+ community who are pursuing a degree in higher education. Students who are seeking degrees at Colleges and Universities, as well as those entering Technical, Vocational, and Trade Schools are eligible. Applicants who will graduate from high school in May 2025 are eligible for the 2025 awards.
The expectation for all applicants is that they support and uphold the rights of all LGBTQ+ individuals, that they identify within this community, and hold the belief that all individuals should be treated equally and equitably without regard to race, creed, color, or individual identity.
Two scholarships will be awarded, one in the amount of $2,500 and a second in the amount of $1,500.
Recipients will be selected by the Peggy West Memorial Scholarship Committee.
Application deadline is March 1, 2025.
The scholarship winner will be notified on or before March 15, 2025.

Letter of Recommendation
In addition to the online application below, a letter of recommendation is required. It should be written by a school counselor, teacher, administrator, volunteer coordinator, pastor, coach, employer, or mentor (no member of your immediate or extended family). The writer of the recommendation should send the letter by email to scholarship@pflagfranklintn.org by March 1. Please put RECOMMENDATION LETTER FOR (STUDENT’S NAME) in the subject line.
