Advocacy in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for people who are LGBTQ+
Support Meetings
-
We have two support meetings each month. We meet from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. In December, we only meet once for a holiday party.
On the second Monday of the month, we meet in person at Christ United Methodist Church, located at 508 Franklin Road, Franklin, TN 37069. (THIS IS A NEW LOCATION FOR US, SO MAKE NOTE OF THE ADDRESS.) We meet at the far left end of the building. When you drive in from Franklin Road, go left and look for the PFLAG signs. No registration is needed. Just come on in.
We understand that many people that attend our meetings have endured religious trauma, and that meeting in a church may bring up distressing feelings. But please know that while the church is our meeting place, PFLAG is not affiliated with any religious organization.
On the fourth Monday of the month, we meet on Zoom. You will need to register to attend our Zoom meetings. We send out an email invitation prior to each one. Click here to sign up for our email list.
All meetings are free and membership is not required to attend.

Our gatherings are very casual, and our main priority is support. Everyone has a turn to share what brings them to PFLAG Franklin. Our meetings are a safe place where each of us can ask questions, share heartache and celebration, and find community. Anything said in our meetings will be held in confidence, and you will not be asked to share more than you are willing. We also sometimes have speakers on various topics to help us all learn how to better understand and support the LGBTQ+ community.
-
We are a diverse group of people from a range of backgrounds. There are many parents with LGBTQ+ children—some who are brand new to this community and some whose children have been out for decades. There are teachers, friends, grandparents, and allies who want to learn more about the LGBTQ+ community. We also have members who identify as LGBTQ+ themselves. Everyone is in a different place in their journey, and everyone is welcome.
PFLAG is not a religious or political organization. We exist to be part of the support system for all LGBTQ+ people, their family, friends, and allies. Children under 18 need to attend with an adult.

peggy west memorial scholarship
The Peggy West Memorial Scholarship was established to encourage and recognize LGBTQ+ students in Williamson County, Tennessee who are pursuing a degree in higher education.
Peggy West was born in a closeted world and spent most of her life living, working, and loving in a very divided way. She felt it was her calling to make people think, and to educate them where she could, to work toward a more diverse and accepting world. She believed in the power of education and encouraged young people to pursue educational endeavors.
We appreciate your donations.
who is eligible?

Two scholarships will be awarded, one in the amount of $2,500 and one in the amount of $1,500.
